Books about Travelling the World

These are my published books on the mature travel sector, what the traveller is looking for, and thoughts on what the world of travel is likely to be in the future.

Targeting the Mature Traveler: Developing Strategies for an Emerging Market

This is the first travel book published with New York Publisher, Business Expert Press. It was written as the COVID19 pandemic was starting to take hold but had not yet had a major impact on the industry.

As the mature travel sector is my main interest, it was fascinating looking at the global picture of where people choose to visit and what they are looking for from a trip away from home.

The findings are still valid today, of course, although it is true that the traditional "Bucket List" has changed following lockdowns during the pandemic.

How a Global Pandemic Changed the Way We Travel

Written as we were all experiencing the terrible impact of the global pandemic on our lives, it was clear that the travel and hospitality sectors were especially hard hit.

Again, it was fascinating to see the results of surveys being held throughout the world, both for individual travellers and for those in the industry that provided products and services.

This is where we can see the changed habits and new "Bucket List" destinations intended to safeguard people and the environment.

Walking Wales: Wye Valley Way

See the additional book page for more details of this book. It follows my trek along the 136-mile Wye Valley Way over 15 days, along with my aunt Jenni.

Lots of pictures, both our own photographs and some old paintings from the National Library of Wales collections. Hope it inspires you to try a similar trek yourself some time!
